01 / Quests & submissions
Give guests a starting point.
- Hostel-authored quests for social moments, local culture, discovery or services.
- A quest browser, categories, requirements and Points/XP shown before taking part.
- Photo evidence, an optional journal entry and a chosen memory audience.
- Authorised staff review: approval, a request for changes or rejection.

02 / Points, XP & rewards
A treat to earn. A rank to reach.
- Points: earn through approved quests and spend in the Point Shop on hostel-chosen consumables and services.
- XP records progress: rank milestones unlock the perks and gifts your hostel chooses.
- Spending Points doesn’t reduce XP or rank.
- Example rewards: a coffee, two votes at movie night, or an extension or tour-booking discount.
Your hostel chooses, funds and fulfils its rewards. See reward planning and costs.

03 / Memories, profile & Feed
Keep the experience beyond checkout.
- Approved quest photos and journals become memories in the guest’s profile.
- Private, friends-only and public audiences; some hostel quests can be kept private.
- Public, approved memories can appear in the Feed when sharing is allowed.
- Personal keepsakes come first. Promotional use needs separate permission for each photo.

04 / People & chat
Find a little common ground.
- Guest profiles with optional photo, bio, interests and travel style.
- Hostel group chat around people whose stays overlap; membership follows the stay.
- Make an invitation without exchanging phone numbers or moving to WhatsApp.
- A face-to-face invitation can include a guest who does not use the app; account-based progress and rewards stay with registered participants.

05 / Stay tools, events & discovery
Useful details, where guests need them.
- My Stay, hostel information, notices, the hostel guide and local tips.
- Promote your existing activities with event schedules, sign-ups and automatic reminders; response counts help staff prepare.
- Information and links for tours, rentals, classes and add-ons.
- Private guest-to-staff chat for reception questions and extension enquiries is part of the pilot scope. Reception confirms any extension; booking, payment and fulfilment stay with the hostel.
StayQuest does not take in-app payments or automatically book a bed in your PMS.

06 / Hostel team tools
Shape, review and provide.
- Publish and maintain quests, reward choices, hostel information and events.
- Review photo submissions and optional journals before awarding progress.
- Confirm reward handovers and keep costs, stock and capacity workable.
- Keep the care behind reception connected to the experience guests create.

Meaningful can be modest
A reward guests value.
A cost that fits your hostel.
Choose rewards around what you can comfortably provide. A small treat, a playful privilege or a keepsake can feel personal without needing to be expensive.
Your hostel chooses, funds and fulfils its rewards. Consider the real cost, staff time, stock and capacity alongside the guest experience.
Treats & servicesStart with the real cost.
Work from the cost of supplying a drink, snack or service, then set a Points price and availability that fit your budget. Product discovery is a possibility, so keep the reward sustainable on its own.
Perks & discountsMake room for the perk.
A movie-night voting perk can use little stock. An extension or tour discount needs a margin check and clear conditions, especially when beds or tour places are limited.
Hostel keepsakesLet your character travel.
Stickers, pins, patches and postcards can be small reminders of a stay. Tote bags and T-shirts offer other options. Compare unit costs, order quantities, sizes and storage before choosing gifts or merch discounts.
Your place. Your values.
Let’s make it
feel like your hostel.
Our team can give bespoke support designing quests and rewards around your hostel’s needs and values. We can help you get set up with template quests, guest messaging, staff training and marketing materials.
We can help design hostel merch too, and help with ongoing questions or issues by email, text or phone.
